The Roig Arena in Valencia is gearing up for its grand opening in September 2025, with intensive track testing underway to ensure a seamless debut.
The Roig Arena, Valencia’s ambitious new multi-purpose venue, is in the final stages of preparation, with extensive track testing underway ahead of its September 2025 opening. “The construction is nearly complete, with just a month and a half until the opening, marked by a tribute concert on September 6,” said Pedro Ortiz, Director of Communications and External Relations for the Roig Arena. “We’re conducting rigorous tests, especially on track operations, to perfect setup, teardown, and various configurations, ensuring everything runs flawlessly from day one.”
The Roig Arena, designed as a North American-style indoor arena, is built for versatility, hosting everything from sports to concerts and corporate events. “An arena offers more than just sports—it provides enhanced track-level services, advanced ceiling capabilities, and flexibility for diverse events,” Ortiz explained. The venue will primarily serve as the new home of the Valencia Basket Club, hosting all home games for both men’s and women’s teams in the Spanish League and EuroLeague. “Their schedule takes priority, and we build other events, like concerts, around it,” he added.
Roig Arena : Fully booked for 2025
The venue’s 2025 calendar is nearly fully booked, with 2026 already filling up. Over 50 concerts are confirmed, many sold out, reflecting strong demand. The Roig Arena will accommodate up to 20,000 people for concerts in a 360-degree setup, 18,600 for standard concerts, and 15,600 for basketball games, offering adaptable seating configurations for each event type.

Technology is a cornerstone of the Roig Arena’s appeal. The venue boasts 1,700 square meters of LED screens, including Europe’s highest-resolution video scoreboard and a 300-square-meter exterior screen dubbed “The Eye.” The facade, adorned with 8,600 ceramic slats, features LED lighting developed by SACO Technologies, known for projects like the Las Vegas Sphere and Dubai’s Burj Khalifa. Controlled by a 4K processor, this system enables high-resolution visuals on the facade, typically displayed before events, enhancing the pre-show experience.
The Roig Arena’s entertainment offerings extend to dining, available 365 days a year. “We’re creating a vibrant food scene with a Valencian cuisine restaurant specializing in rice dishes, an ultramarinos, and ‘El Mercat,’ a food hall with diverse options like pizza, burgers, and sandwiches,” Ortiz said. This ensures visitors can dine anytime, whether attending an event or not.
Beyond its role as an entertainment hub, the Roig Arena is part of a broader “city project” revitalizing the Quatre Carreres neighborhood. The initiative includes a 1,100-vehicle parking facility, a 21,000-square-meter public park, and a new public school, all funded by Juan Roig’s personal investment of over €280 million. “This is a project for Valencia, the Valencian Community, and Spain,” Ortiz emphasized. “We’re committed to making it a landmark that serves the community.”
While Ortiz avoids claiming the Roig Arena as Europe’s best, he is confident it has the infrastructure to host any major indoor event. “We’ll let the public, promoters, and visitors decide our place among top venues,” he said. With its cutting-edge technology, versatile design, and community focus, the Roig Arena is poised to become a cornerstone of Valencia’s cultural and sporting scene when it opens in September 2025.
