Tesla Bot Soon To Take Away Boring Tasks From Humans

The Tesla Bot prototype, a robot that will use cutting-edge AI software to take over boring and repetitive tasks from the human race, will be unveiled next year.

Tesla will launch the “Tesla Bot” prototype in 2022, Elon Musk announced at the company’s Palo Alto headquarters during the Artificial Intelligence Event.

Musk jokedly walked out a human dressed in the Tesla Bot uniform and said, “Tesla Bot will be real.” He   described some of the tasks that the robot will be able to perform, such as grocery shopping, picking up household objects, and other commonplace commands.

The robot will stand 175 cm tall and weigh 65 kg. It will have a screen on the front that will display useful information. Furthermore, it will have human-level hands. For balance and agility, the extremities will use 40 electromechanical actuators, two feet, and force feedback sensing. Musk joked that it could reach speeds of up to 8 km/h.

The Tesla Bot will also make use of some of the company’s AI devices, which are already in use on the company’s vehicles. Autopilot cameras will essentially serve as the Tesla Bot’s vision, while a Full Self-Driving computer will serve as the robot’s internal organs, allowing it to operate and function as a productive member of the household.

The machine will use multi-camera video neural networks, as detailed during the company’s AI Event. Additionally, Neural Net planning, labeling, simulation, and tools will be used to assist the Tesla Bot in operating effectively and efficiently while performing tasks accurately.

“We’re trying to be as literal as possible with this robot: Can it do boring, dangerous, repetitive jobs that people don’t want to do?” You never know, once you get it to do that, it might be able to do other things as well… I mean, it could be your buddy as well. “I’m sure people will come up with some very inventive uses,” Musk joked.

Musk stated that the Tesla Bot will not be available until next year, owing to the fact that the robot will use the Dojo Supercomputer’s training mechanisms to improve functionality. Tesla’s idea for the robot appears to be to reduce the need to perform tasks on your own.

Musk predicted that there will be “no shortage of labor” in the future, but physical labor will simply be a choice. The Tesla Bot’s purpose could be to eliminate the need for minor, mindless housework. “Work that is boring and repetitive will be the first step for the Tesla bot.” Basically, work that no one wants to do,” Musk added.

“One of the most difficult aspects of developing a useful humanoid robot is determining whether it can navigate the world without being explicitly trained. “We don’t have explicit line-by-line instructions,” Musk explained. “Can you talk to it and tell it to pick up that bolt and attach it to the car with that wrench? That should be possible.”

Musk appears to be in charge of the robot’s development, especially since the CEO has previously criticized AI’s potential power. Musk once warned on an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast that if AI becomes too powerful, it will become increasingly dangerous, especially because its mind and memory are so powerful.

Don’t expect to see the Robot on Tesla’s assembly lines anytime soon. Musk stated that the parts were available and that the company had decided to produce it. “If we don’t, someone else will, so I guess we should try. And make it secure,” Musk added.
