In less than two weeks, the most important part of the Paella celebration – the World Paella Day Cup – will take place in Valencia.
The world’s most famous Valencian dish will be on display once more in September. This month, the 4th edition of World Paella Day, a celebration of Valencian cousine, will take place.
The most important part of the event is a competition called, the World Paella Day Cup and that will be held on 20th of September in Valencia.
It is a one-of-a-kind competition available to cooks from all around the world. It all begins with a video that prospective competitors submit, in which they discuss their careers, state which country they want to represent, and explain why they want to compete.
The best videos advance to the next level of the competition, the public vote, after an initial screening procedure. Following this vote, eight chefs are chosen to compete in the paella-making competition in order to win the World Paella Day Cup. Follow @worldpaelladay on social media to stay up to date on the process, and go to www.worldpaelladay.org to watch the competition live.
The eight finalists, chosen by both the public and the judges, will go to València to demonstrate their talent in cooking an authentic Valencian paella in the competition’s final stage. On the 20th of September, they will compete live in the 2nd edition of the World Paella Day Cup.
The expert chefs will heat the oil, stir in the rice, and add the stock, in the public showcase of their art, and it will be a genuine way for spectators to learn more about this world-famous Valencian cuisine dish.
