Around The World In 80 Dishes In Valencia

We can finally travel, it seems – but only gastronomically speaking, thanks to a new event Around the World in 80 Dishes…

Valencia is to host two gastronomic events in April. Aside from Platos de Cuchara, from 8 April to 18 April, La Vuelta Al Mundo En 80 Platos (around the world in 80 dishes) will take place, with 30 restaurants participating. It is a collaboration between Turisme Comunitat Valenciana and the Valencia Provincial Council’s Tourist Board.

Emiliano Garca, Councilor for Tourism and President of Visit València, said that the event’s goal is “to contribute to boosting the city’s gastronomic activity, always in safe environments that comply with the regulations and measures specified by the health authorities”.

“Traditional Valencian gastronomy coexists with other world cuisines in our city, thanks to the talent and experience of the professionals we have at the helm,” he added.

Participating restaurants will feature international cuisine specialties from Peru, France, Japan, Morocco, Argentine, Balkan, Thailand, Burma, Vietnam, India, and Italy. Menus will be available at three different fixed prices: €19, €29, and €39 (drinks not included).

This is being hailed by some as a welcome shot in the arm at last for the city’s restaurant sector. The Valencian says, it is high time we support this essential part of our offer.
