Volta La Marina – A Perfect Way To Begin 2022

Volta la Marina, the Valencian Community’s most popular cycling race, begins on January 8, 2022, and will keep cyclists busy until the end of March.

The Volta la Marina, which began in 1985 and has had over 30 editions, is one of the most popular cycling tours in the Valencia Region. The multi-stage route takes participants through various towns and villages in the Alicante province. The stages and routes have evolved over time to provide competitors with the best race experience possible.

Volta la Marina 2022 will feature nine stages in total. The race will begin on the second weekend of January, with the first stage taking place on January 8th in and around Pego. The Volta will be in Benissa the following day, January 9, and Xaló the following week, January 16. Another stage of the race will leave from Xàbia/Jávea, on the 30th of January, and a week later, on the 6th of February, from Bolulla.

Then, three weeks later, the race will continue in Barxeta on February 27 and Ondara on March 5. The following day, the Vuelta Ciclista Féminas del Ayuntamiento de Ondara, or women’s tour, will take place. The penultimate stage will be held in Pedreguer on March 13th, and the ninth and final stage will be held in Parcent on March 27th.

Volta la Marina will attract not only a large number of competitors, but also visitors looking to soak up the great atmosphere, discover new destinations, and learn about the area’s heritage, history, landscapes, and gastronomy.

Regrettably, with only 195 competitors, it is too late to sign up for the race. The registration process began on November 25th, and all available slots were quickly filled. However, you can still participate in the challenge as a spectator and cheer on the competitors. Also, make a note of the registration date and the organizers’ website in your calendar for the following year.
