Here Comes The Sun? A Used Car Fair and Miguel Bose In Valencia

A used car fair and a concert of Miguel Bose in Valencia are set to go ahead this summer, in what is to be hoped is a long-awaited sign of a slow return to normality, or something approaching it…

Feria Valencia will host the 13th edition of its Used Vehicle Fair from 3 June to 6: a real, not remote event, with real people walking the halls, albeit adhering to the anti-covid security protocol.

The Used Vehicle Fair will be the first post-Covid-19 manifestation organised by Feria Valencia, which was recently saved from insolvency by local government. It will take up over 25,000 square metres of fairground space and feature 1,500 vehicles from 40 exhibitors.

The exhibition will be held in Pavilions 1 and 2, with plenty of empty space in between the cars to allow for both circulation and continuous air renovation in accordance with protocol requirements.

Under this protocol, all information on offer will be digitised to avoid paper contact, visitors will have a variety of access doors and hydroalcoholic gel points, and the ventilation system is expected to be the star of the show.

A month later, Levante UD’s stadium will be converted into a concert venue. Levante UD, which is presently doing much better in the Spanish Premier League than the soon-to-be homeless Valencia CF, has offered its venue to a new music event called ‘Les Nits de Ciutat’, or City Nights. Three concerts will be held at the stadium as part of this event: Aitana (9 July), Miguel Bose (16 July), and Loquillo (17 July).

The concert of the legendary Spanish superstar Miguel Bose, now 65, will undoubtedly be the main draw for the public, as it has been for years since he performed in Valencia, in front of an 8,000-strong crowd at Plaza de Toros. It remains to be seen how he will be received this year, after his anti-vaccination stance was widely publicised and ruthlessly broadcast numerous times on Spanish television channels.

In terms of health regulations, Levante Stadium appears to be a relatively safe concert venue, owing to its size, which allows for a large number of spectators to be accommodated while maintaining a safe social distancing.
